Lunazul Reposado is a reposado tequila at 40% ABV made from 100% blue Weber agave at Tierra de Agaves and rested in bourbon casks, from Heaven Hill's Lunazul brand. The bourbon cask adds a fine layer of oak and vanilla to the agave. Reposado means 'rested' in Spanish; tequilas in this class are legally required to be rested in oak for at least two months.

What does Lunazul Reposado taste like?

The bright golden tequila has a delicate, fruity aroma, accompanied by light oak and vanilla notes. On the palate, layers of full caramel, semi-sweet vanilla, fruit and spice are felt; the taste evolves towards fine oak and vanilla towards the end. It has a rounder, sweeter profile than its blanco sibling.

How is it served?

It can be drunk neat or over ice. In a classic Margarita made with fresh lime juice, agave syrup and orange liqueur, the caramel notes gained from the cask add depth to the cocktail.

Which foods does it pair with?

The producer recommends pairing this tequila with pork and shellfish. Similarly, grilled chicken, prawns and spiced grilled dishes also achieve a good match with its caramel and spice notes.

Nose: Delicate and fruity; light oak and vanilla.
Palate: Rich caramel, semi-sweet vanilla, fruit and spice, evolving into subtle oak.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
