Kvint Gourmet Cabernet Sauvignon is a dry red wine from the Gourmet series of Kvint, Moldova's established producer. This red in the series blends French Cabernet Sauvignon with Georgian-origin Saperavi; both grapes are grown in the producer's own vineyards.
What does it taste like?
The producer describes this wine by its deep ruby colour. Its bouquet brings together aromas of dried plum, ripe cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant. The palate has a velvety texture and a pleasant astringency; fruit leads on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon contributes structure and black fruit, while Saperavi adds deep colour and vibrancy.
Who is Kvint?
Kvint's history goes back to 1897, with the founding of the first distillery warehouse in Tiraspol. The company today grows more than 30 grape varieties across roughly 2,000 hectares of its own vineyards; alongside wine, it is especially known for its aged brandies (divin).
How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?
The producer recommends serving at 16–18°C, paired with a medium-rare steak. Grilled red meats, lamb dishes and mature cheeses also accompany this full-bodied red well.
