Khareba Pirosmani Semi Dry Red

Khareba Pirosmani is a 12% ABV off-dry red wine made from ripe Saperavi grapes in eastern Georgia. It is produced by Tbilisi-based Winery Khareba and represents Georgia's classic off-dry red style. It belongs to Georgia's regional wine class and carries the fruity character that comes from harvesting Saperavi at full ripeness.

What does Khareba Pirosmani taste like?

It has a deep ruby colour with purple reflections. Ripe dark forest fruit and elderberry notes stand out on the nose. On the palate, dark fruit, elderberry and blueberry mingle; a full body and a light spiced touch balance the taste. Thanks to its off-dry style, the fruit is pronounced while the sweetness stays measured.

How should it be served?

It is recommended to serve lightly chilled, at 16–18°C. A full-bodied red wine glass helps the fruit aromas open up. Once opened, the bottle should be recorked, stored in a cool place and consumed within a few days.

What food does Khareba Pirosmani pair with?

It is a recommended wine for grilled steak prepared with spiced sauces and for Asian cuisine. Its light sweetness softens the sharpness of hot and spiced dishes; it also offers a balanced match with grilled red meats.
