Kahfa Yellow

Kahfa Yellow is a 40% ABV tequila reposado made from 100% blue agave, known for the yellow skull-shaped bottle of the KAH tequila range. KAH tequilas are produced at the Fabrica de Tequilas Finos distillery in the town of Tequila, in Mexico's Jalisco state; the bottle design is inspired by Day of the Dead celebrations.

How is it made?

According to the producer, this reposado is obtained by resting blue agave distillate in American oak barrels for more than two months. This time in barrel gives it a softer structure compared with a blanco tequila. Reposado is Spanish for "rested" and describes the category of tequila briefly rested in barrel.

What does it taste like?

The producer describes this tequila as full-bodied and oily in texture. On the palate, an intense agave taste stands out, softened by vanilla and caramel touches from the barrel.

How is it served?

Served neat in a small glass at room temperature, its agave character is best recognised; it can also be served with a few ice cubes. The producer also recommends a margarita recipe made with triple sec, lime juice, mango syrup and basil.

What food does it pair with?

Agave's herbal warmth alongside its vanilla-caramel notes pairs well with spiced dishes and grilled red meat. Tacos and dishes with chilli-based sauces from Mexican cuisine are also common pairings.
