Dead Man's Fingers Cherry is a 37.5% ABV flavoured rum made by blending Caribbean rums with spice and cherry flavouring. The Dead Man's Fingers brand was born at the Rum & Crab Shack seafood restaurant in St Ives, Cornwall, England, and is now part of the Halewood group.
What does Dead Man's Fingers Cherry taste like?
On the nose, rich cherry aromas meet vanilla and vibrant orange notes, with a hint of sugar cane and light woodiness also present. On the palate, a balance is struck between sweet and lightly bitter, with cherry, caramel and spice to the fore. The finish is long, leaving cinnamon, pineapple, cherry and white pepper lingering for a while.
How should it be served?
The brand recommends a refreshing long drink made with cola or cranberry juice over ice, garnished with fresh cherries. A cherry Bellini made with sparkling wine is another suggested serve.
Which desserts does it pair well with?
Its cherry and vanilla notes form a natural match with dark chocolate desserts, particularly a chocolate cake with sour cherry. Cherry tart, clafoutis and other red-fruit desserts are also good accompaniments.
