Yeni Rakı Yeni Seri is a 45% ABV Turkish raki produced by Mey|Diageo by processing fresh and dried grapes with first-harvest aniseed. First launched in 2009, the range is one of the widely available bottlings in the Yeni Rakı family.

What sets Yeni Seri apart?

The producer attributes this raki's character to the fresh aniseed from the season's first harvest. Suma obtained from carefully selected fresh and dried grapes is distilled together with this first-harvest aniseed. According to the producer, its smooth taste comes from the light, clean character given by fresh aniseed.

How is it served?

It is drunk diluted with cold water in a narrow-waisted raki glass; it turns milky white when water is added. The water ratio is adjusted to personal taste; those who want ice can add it last. Drinking it slowly, over conversation, at long raki tables is part of the tradition.

What food does it pair with?

The producer states Yeni Seri goes particularly well with cold mezes and herb-based mezes. Herb mezes such as samphire, purslane and olive-oil artichoke, the pairing of white cheese and melon, and grilled fish are the best matches for this raki.
