Saint Brendan's Irish Cream is a 17% ABV Irish cream liqueur made by blending fresh dairy cream, triple-distilled The Quiet Man Irish whiskey and other spirits. Its label names Saint Brendan's Irish Cream Liqueur Co. of Derry, in the north of the island of Ireland, as producer; the brand is imported into the US by Luxco. It takes its name from Saint Brendan, the ancient Irish monk known for his long sea voyages.

What does Saint Brendan's taste like?

The producer describes the taste as elegantly smooth, gentle and creamy. Vanilla, marshmallow and chocolate notes stand out on the palate, joined by a light touch of spice. The oak-matured whiskey in the blend gives the cream a warm, rounded base.

How is it served?

It can be drunk neat over ice, or well chilled in small glasses. Added to coffee, it gives a creamy Irish coffee flavour; it can also be used in hot chocolate and creamy cocktails. The brand also recommends the liqueur for baking desserts such as espresso-flavoured cakes and cookies. As it contains cream, the storage instructions on the label should be followed once opened.

What food does it pair with?

Its vanilla and chocolate character makes a natural match for chocolate desserts such as tiramisu, chocolate cake and brownies. It can also be served after a meal alongside roasted hazelnuts or almonds, with coffee.
