Wild Africa Cream is a caramel-infused cream liqueur made by KWV, South Africa's long-established drinks producer, using cream from local free-range cows. It is made by combining fresh cream, distilled spirit and caramel; it is known for its beige-cream colour and leopard-print bottle. According to the producer, it is sold in more than 45 countries.
The caramel addition gives the liqueur a silky texture and a soft, lightly nutty mouthfeel. The rich fattiness of the cream and the sweetness of the caramel combine in balance, giving a smooth, easy taste. Its ability to mix easily with both hot and cold drinks is one of the features the producer highlights.
It can be drunk neat over ice, added to coffee, or used in cream-liqueur cocktails. The producer also recommends pouring it over ice cream and using it in dessert recipes. Once opened, it should be kept refrigerated and stored below 25 °C.
Its caramel- and cream-led character pairs well with desserts such as chocolate cake, brownies and tiramisu. Roasted nuts such as hazelnuts, almonds or walnuts also complement the liqueur's nutty finish; it can be served after a meal with a cup of coffee.
