Tequila Rose Strawberry Cream

Tequila Rose is a 15% ABV cream liqueur made in the USA by Tequila Rose Distilling Co., combining strawberry cream with tequila. The brand states it was the first product to bring cream together with a spirit other than Irish whiskey, and describes itself as the "original strawberry cream liqueur". It is now part of the Sazerac group's portfolio.

What does Tequila Rose taste like?

This pink-coloured liqueur has fresh strawberry and cream to the fore on the nose. The palate is rich and creamy, with the intense strawberry flavour balanced by a light touch of tequila. The finish is soft and sweet. The tequila character stays in the background, with strawberry cream doing the defining work.

How should it be served?

The producer recommends Tequila Rose best served as a chilled shot. The silver-coloured roses on the bottle turn pink once the drink is sufficiently chilled, a detail that makes it easy to judge serving temperature. The dark glass bottle blocks out light, helping to keep the creamy contents fresh. The liqueur can also be used in cocktails such as a strawberry margarita, in milkshake-style creamy drinks, or stirred into coffee and hot chocolate.

Which foods does it pair well with?

Its strawberry, creamy character forms a natural match with fruit desserts: strawberry cake, cheesecake and fresh fruit tarts make a good accompaniment. It can also be enjoyed after dinner with chocolate desserts such as chocolate cake and chocolate-covered strawberries.
