Leona Red is a red wine from the Leona series of Kayra, one of Turkey's established wine brands. Leona is a series known for blends that bring together a native and an international grape in the same bottle, aiming for fruity, easy-drinking wines in the New World style.
What is the Leona series?
When Kayra launched Leona, the red in the series was a blend of Öküzgözü and Shiraz; the whites featured Narince–Chardonnay and Sultaniye–Chardonnay pairings. The New World style refers to an approach where fruit is more pronounced and the drink softer compared with Europe's traditional regions. As reds with different grape blends have since been offered within the series, we recommend checking the label for this bottle's grape composition and alcohol content.
About the producer
Kayra is a wine brand now part of Diageo Turkey. The company's wine portfolio includes Leona alongside brands such as Kayra Imperial, Versus, Vintage and Buzbağ. Öküzgözü is an Anatolian grape grown mainly in Elazığ and Malatya, producing medium-bodied wines with lively acidity.
How should it be served, and what food does it pair with?
It can be served slightly below room temperature. As a fruity red, it pairs well with everyday dishes such as grilled meats, meatballs and pizza or pasta, or a cheese-based meze platter.

- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep wine bottles on their side and spirits upright.
- Serve white/rosé and sparkling wine at 6–12°C, and reds at 16–18°C.
- Keep opened bottles closed; drink wine within a few days of opening.
