Alcohol Prices in Cyprus 2026: What to Expect

Why do drinks in the TRNC often cost less than in Turkey? What to expect for beer, whisky, raki and wine in 2026, plus tips for shopping smart.

One of the first things visitors to North Cyprus notice is the price of alcohol. In this post we explain how prices in the TRNC are shaped as of 2026 and what to go for depending on your budget.

Why is alcohol better value in Cyprus?

The tax burden on alcoholic drinks in the TRNC is considerably lower than Turkey's special consumption tax (ÖTV). As a result, the Cyprus shelf price of the same bottle often compares favourably — the difference is most noticeable on imported whisky, gin and champagne.

What to expect in each category

A general guide: beer in six-packs is the most economical treat; raki is good value compared with Turkey; whisky covers a wide range from entry-level to premium; and with wine you'll find affordable prices from local producers and mid-range prices for imported labels. For current prices, just message us on WhatsApp — we'll send you the current shop price.

When and where to buy for the best value?

Choosing an established off licence over tourist-area mini-markets often makes a difference. At Jastin Off Licence Bafra, prices match the shop labels exactly, and you pay the same price when you order from our online catalogue. Keep an eye on our Deals of the Day section for special offers.

Can I order without leaving my hotel?
