At Jastin Off Licence you can pay in cash (Turkish lira, British pounds, euros or US dollars) or by credit card. This applies at both our Bafra Tourism Zone (İskele, North Cyprus) and Famagusta (Gazimağusa) branches, for shopping in store and for delivery orders. Telling us how you'll pay before we set off speeds things up, because the driver can bring the right change or the card machine.

Can I pay by card for alcohol in North Cyprus?

With us, yes. You can pay by credit card in our shops. If you'd like to pay by card on delivery, say so in your order and we'll confirm by WhatsApp or phone that card payment on the doorstep is available for that order. For orders placed on our website, the payment options available are shown at checkout. With a UK or other foreign card, your bank processes the payment in Turkish lira and applies its own exchange rate and fees.

Can I pay in pounds in North Cyprus? Or should I pay in lira?

The official currency of North Cyprus is the Turkish lira, and our prices are set in lira (TL). If you've brought pounds, euros or dollars, we accept them in cash. We'll tell you the amount to pay in foreign currency at the till or when you order. Because exchange rates can change during the day, it's based on that day's rate. It's also worth agreeing at the time which currency your change will be given in. For small purchases, lira or card is usually the easiest option.

Why can't I see prices on the website?

On our website, prices are only shown once you've logged in. Create an account, log in and you'll see current prices on product pages and in your basket. If you'd like to know a price without signing up, just ask on WhatsApp: Bafra +90 539 138 15 62, Famagusta +90 542 881 16 80.

What do the pound and euro prices on the website mean?

On the website you may see the approximate euro, pound or dollar equivalent of a price. This is for guidance only, so you can get a rough idea of your budget in your own currency. The actual price is in Turkish lira. When paying cash in foreign currency, the amount that counts is the one confirmed at the till or when you order, which may differ from the approximate figure on the site.

Do you take American Express or other cards?

Which card networks are accepted can depend on the bank's system. If you're planning to pay with a card other than Visa or Mastercard (such as American Express, Mir or UnionPay), ask on WhatsApp before you order, or keep some cash as a backup.

Practical payment tips

  • Say how you'll pay in your order: "I'll pay cash in pounds" or "I'll pay by card" is all we need.
  • Hotel deliveries: the order is handed over in the lobby, so take your card or cash down with you.
  • Big orders: for large orders such as a villa party, let's agree the payment method and total in advance. For help with your list, see our villa party drinks guide.
  • Receipts: you can ask for a receipt for your purchase.

Which currency should I bring to North Cyprus?

For day-to-day spending, Turkish lira is the most practical currency, and most prices are set in lira. If you've brought euros or pounds, you can change them at exchange offices (döviz) or use them directly for cash payments with us. Paying by card is always an option, but check your bank's exchange rate and foreign transaction fees before you travel to avoid surprises. If you're heading to rural areas or small businesses, carry some lira.

What currency will you quote prices in?

We quote prices in Turkish lira. If you like, we'll also tell you the equivalent in pounds, euros or dollars for that day. That figure applies to that order; if the rate changes, the amount may differ next time.

How is the delivery charge paid?

Any delivery charge depends on the area and how busy the day is, and we tell you by WhatsApp or phone when you order. We only deliver once your order has been confirmed by WhatsApp or phone, and that's when the time and charge are agreed. The charge is paid together with your order, using the same payment method. For general delivery terms, see shipping and delivery; for our contact details, see contact.
